BMI Hosts “El Acoustic Lounge” in Miami, Featuring Alternativo-Sierreño Sensation DannyLux

BMI was excited to host the first “El Acoustic Lounge,” last week, at Casa Nube in Miami. The featured performer of the evening, sponsored by Shure, was DannyLux, a rising Mexican American singer/songwriter who has been making a name for himself as the originator of Alternativo-Sierreño. Just 21 years old, he’s built a formidable reputation, earning multiple accolades including a Billboard Latin Music Award nomination for “Jugaste y Sufrí” with Eslabon Armado in 2022, a Premio Lo Nuestro nomination from Univision for Best New Artist – Regional Mexican in 2023, and a nomination for Best Contemporary Mexican Music Album at the Latin Grammy Awards for his album EVOLUXION in 2024. He made his Coachella debut in 2023, appeared on NPR’s Tiny Desk concert series, and made his Paris Fashion Week and runway debut at the highly curated Willy Chavarria show. He won his first BMI Latin Award in 2023 for Regional Mexican Song of the Year with “Jugaste y Sufrí,” and he’s only just getting started.

For his performance at “El Acoustic Lounge,” DannyLux played songs from his latest release, Leyenda, including “DIME BB,” “YA NO LLORES,” “YA NO ESTÁS,” “SIRENA” and “CIELO ETERNO.” During the Q&A period of the evening, DannyLux and BMI’s Vice President Creative – Latin, Jesus Gonzalez, discussed his musical influences and evolution as well as his creative process and future musical aspirations. The evening was a tremendous success and another great example of how BMI is committed to being a conduit of connection and collaboration for our BMI Familia in Miami and beyond.
