BMI composer Jeff Beal’s emotionally charged music to BOSTON: The Documentary was a topic of ardent discussion after a screening of the inspirational film at the Linwood Dun Theater in Hollywood last week. As the first feature-length documentary about the world’s most legendary running race – the Boston Marathon, BOSTON chronicles the story of the iconic event from its humble origins 120 years ago, to the present day, while connecting the history of the marathon and its runners with the 2014 race following the tragic events of 2013. It is a brilliant telling of heroism, friendship, dedication, and bravery, to which Beal’s music is the perfect accompaniment. BOSTON currently has limited theatrical release in LA and NY. For those who can venture out, it’s a film well worth it.
