BMI Congratulates its Affiliates Nominated for 2018 Billboard Latin Music Awards
Billboard announced its nominations for the 2018 Billboard Latin Music Awards this week and, once again, BMI affiliates made a strong showing. With the event slated to be held at the Venetian in Las Vegas and airing live on Telemundo on April 26, many BMI songwriters will surely be on hand to take home their well-deserved accolades.
From this year’s class of BMI nominees, J Balvin and Shakira both earned 12 prestigious nods, specifically competing with each other for Social Artist of the Year, Hot Latin Song of the Year, Vocal Event, Digital Song of the Year, Streaming Song of the Year and Top Latin Album of the Year. Luis Fonsi and Ozuna are close behind, both with 10 nominations each, competing with each other for Artist of The Year and Hot Latin Songs Artist of the year, Male. Other notable multiple-noms include “Despacito”-songwriter Marty James Garton, who earned 7 nods, “Mi Gente”-songwriter Mohombi Nzazi Moupondo, who is up for 6 awards.
