BMI Congratulates Its 2016 American Music Awards Nominees

BMI is happy to extend its congratulations to this year’s nominees for the American Music Awards. Leading BMI’s class of affiliates with an incredible seven nominations, Rihanna stands poised to collect awards for Artist of the Year, Collaboration of the Year for her single “Work,” Video of the Year for “Work,” Favorite Female Artist – Pop/Rock, Favorite Female Artist Soul/B&B, Favorite Album – Soul/R&B for Anti and Favorite Song – Soul/R&B for “Work.” Close behind her comes Adele, who received nods for Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Artist – Pop/Rock, Favorite Album – Pop/Rock for her smash 25, Favorite Song – Pop/Rock for “Hello,” and Favorite Artist – Adult Contemporary.

Country singer/songwriter Carrie Underwood received three prestigious nominations this year as well, having earned nods for Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Artist – Country and Favorite Album – Country for Storyteller. From the other side of the musical spectrum, versatile alternative rock duo Twenty One Pilots also garnered three nods, having earned a spot in the runnings for Artist of the Year, Favorite Duo or Group – Pop/Rock and Favorite Artist – Alternative Rock. Brooklyn hip-hopper Desiigner is up for Video of the Year and Favorite Song – Rap/Hip-Hop, both for his single “Panda.”

The 2016 AMAs will be broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California, on Sunday, November 20, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
