BMI Composers Virtually Mentor Film Students at UNC School of the Arts

Posted in News on May 22, 2020

Last Friday, BMI film composer Craig Richey and BMI’s Doreen Ringer-Ross hosted a Zoom panel with recent graduates of the MFA in Film Music Composition from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Joined by program Chair Christopher Heckman, and BMI composers Rolfe Kent, Ronit Kirchman, and George S. Clinton, the discussion centered around composing music for film, career development for young composers, and a discussion as to how the pandemic, at least in the short term, might be inspiring new strategies and challenges in collaboration.
