BMI Celebrates its 2023 NEA Jazz Masters, Louis Hayes and Kenny Garrett

BMI was once again thrilled to join the National Endowment of the Arts, this past Saturday night, in hosting the annual, celebratory dinner in honor of BMI affiliates and 2023 Jazz Masters, Louis Hayes and Kenny Garrett. The event comes as part of BMI’s longtime sponsorship of the NEA Jazz Masters, which is notably the most prestigious accolade for American jazz musicians and songwriters.

During the course of the evening, BMI’s Director of Musical Theatre and Jazz, Pat Cook, presented awards to jazz greats Louis Hayes and Kenny Garrett. Additionally, Cook, alongside the BMI Foundation’s Susan Bywaters, presented the 2023 BMI Future Jazz Master Award to Christian McGhee.
