BMI Celebrates Chris Young and Mitchell Tenpenny with No. 1 Party for “At The End of A Bar”

BMI gathered with industry friends at Losers Bar and Grill on Tuesday to celebrate the chart-topping collaboration of BMI songwriter’s Chris Young and Mitchell Tenpenny’s single “At The End of A Bar,” produced by Chris DeStefano.

Hosted by BMI’s Mason Hunter, the evening celebrated the BMI affiliates through thoughtful remarks from industry collaborators and a surprise plaque presentation displaying the RIAA gold-certified single, gifted by Sony Music Nashville. Young and Tenpenny also shared their gratitude for the success, reflecting on the initial moments of the song’s creation during the 2021 ice storm and revisiting the place where the duo’s paths first crossed in Nashville. The duet marks Young’s thirteenth No.1 single as an artist and 3rd No. 1 for Tenpenny.

Sponsored by Studio Bank, Ron Cox surprised Young, Tenpenny and DeStefano by presenting a donation on behalf of the songwriters and producer in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a pediatric hospital located in Memphis, Tennessee, that supports research initiatives and provides healthcare support for children in need.
