BMI Brings Jazz Vibe to Brewers Event

BMI partnered with the Massachusetts Brewers Guild in providing the live music at the Massachusetts Craft Brewers Festival held recently at the Boston Center for the Arts. In keeping with the post-prohibition era theme of the festival, BMI showcased two iconic jazz composers/musicians from the Boston area who performed in front of craft brewers from across the Bay State, many of whom have been long time BMI customers. BMI composers Gerry Beaudoin and Duke Robillard each brought their bands to perform selections from their rich jazz and blues catalogues. Beaudoin is an award-winning jazz guitarist and composer who has performed with the likes of J. Geils and Fred Lipsius of Blood, Sweat and Tears, and has had his music placed in major network shows including The Blacklist, The Good Fight, Dateline NBC, The Sarah Silverman Show and Only Murders in the Building. Robillard has received multiple GRAMMY nominations, was inducted into the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame and was named by blues legend BB King as “one of the great players.”
