BMI Artist John Morgan Celebrates “Friends Like That” Featuring Jason Aldean with No. One Party

BMI gathered music industry friends together to celebrate BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville and Night Train Records artist John Morgan’s No. One hit “Friends Like That,” featuring Jason Aldean, at the Music Row songwriter hub Live Oak on Tuesday, June 24. Written by Morgan (BMI), Lydia Vaughan (BMI), Will Bundy (ASCAP), and Brent Anderson (ASCAP), the track produced by Aldean, Kurt Allison and Tully Kennedy serves as the North Carolinians first No. One as an artist and fourth as a songwriter.
The event was hosted by BMI and ASCAP, and emceed by BMI’s Mason Hunter who congratulated the artists, songwriters, and producers while inviting those involved in the song’s success to speak. BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville’s JoJamie Hahr also surprised the song’s contributors with plaques to commemorate the chart-topper. Sponsored by Studio Bank, the celebration included a special donation presentation made by Ron Cox on behalf of Morgan, Aldean and the songwriters in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which is dedicated to advancing cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.
