BMI and the California Restaurant Association Celebrate the Power of Music

BMI partnered with the San Diego Chapter of the California Restaurant Association recently on a panel and performance focused on the power of music and its intersection with hospitality and the restaurant industry. BMI’s Dan Spears joined SDCM Restaurant Group owner Matt Spencer and Humphrey’s Food & Beverage Director Tom Essa to discuss the important role that music plays in driving traffic to restaurants & bars and creating an appealing and comfortable vibe for customers. Following the discussion, BMI songwriter Emily Kinney performed an intimate and acoustic set where she shared stories and songs while thanking the San Diego restaurant industry for all they do to support the craft of songwriting through the licensing fees they pay BMI. Aside from her talents as a singer/songwriter, Emily has enjoyed a great deal of success as an actress appearing on television shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Masters of Sex, Conviction and The Good Wife. However, she is best known for her role as Beth Green on AMC’s hit TV show The Walking Dead.
