BMI and iHeart Media Partner on 3rd Annual Island Hopper Songwriters Fest

More than 70 BMI songwriters made the trip down to Southwest Florida to participate in the 3rd annual Island Hopper Songwriters Fest, a joint venture between BMI, iHeart Media and the Visitors and Convention Bureau of Lee County. The 10-day festival began on Captiva Island on September 23 and wrapped up October 2 in Fort Myers Beach, with headlining performances from the chart-topping band Parmalee and 5-time CMA nominee Maren Morris. 24 BMI-licensed venues hosted 138 performances on the beaches of Captiva and Fort Myers. The goal of the festival is to not only shine a spotlight on the craft of songwriting, but to boost the local economy during a slow time of year, thus helping BMI licensing customers generate F & B revenue and fill hotel beds when they need it most.
