CMA Awards Revere ‘Live Like You Were Dying’

Tim McGraw's inspirational smash hit "Live Like You Were Dying" was named Song and Single of the Year at the 38th Annual CMA Awards. BMI Award-winning writer Tim Nichols and Warner-Tamerlane Publishing Corp. claimed trophies for the Song award (co-written and published by Craig Wiseman); McGraw and producers Byron Gallimore and Darran Smith earned the Single honors. Alison Krauss also garnered a double win for Music Video and Musical Event of the Year with her vocal contribution to "Whiskey Lullaby," a duet with Brad Paisley.

Martina McBride was named Female Vocalist for the fourth time, while Keith Urban claimed his first nod for Male Vocalist. A second consecutive Vocal Group award was given to Rascal Flatts. Brooks & Dunn grabbed their 12th Vocal Duo Award, and also debuted as hosts of the awards show.

The evening was highlighted by Kris Kristofferson's Hall of Fame induction. Dolly Parton was presented the International Artist Achievement Award prior to the live telecast, which aired on CBS from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.
