Winners were named for the
12th Annual Billboard World Song Contest during a ceremony at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, Oklahoma. BMI's Joyce Rice was on hand at the festivities to congratulate the winners, who submitted songs in categories spanning pop, rock/alternative, rap/hip-hop, country/folk, jazz, world, gospel/contemporary Christian, Latin, R&B/blues and dance. Grand prize winners received gifts including the Excellence in Songwriting Award, an Epiphone guitar with hard-shell case, a selection of books and CD's, and a one-year subscription to
Billboard magazine. Also, the top three winners in each category will be included on the 12th Annual Billboard Song Contest Winners CD, sent to industry professionals all over the world. The event is organized by the Jim Halsey Company, Inc.
