‘Who I Am’ Hitmakers Revealed at BMI Nashville Celebration

Posted in News on April 22, 2001

Jessica Andrews, Brett James and Troy Verges celebrated their first #1 single -- Andrews as singer, James and Verges as songwriters -- during a BMI-hosted reception (4/19) for "Who I Am." The song topped the charts of Billboard, Radio & Records, Gavin and CMT for multiple weeks. Others honored by BMI with commemorative pewter cups were publishers Songs of Teracel, Songs of Universal, Inc. and Sony/ATV Music Publishing, label Dreamworks/Nashville and producer Byron Gallimore. "Who I Am" is the title cut from Andrews's second album for Dreamworks/Nashville, which was certified gold four weeks after its release. James and Verges also wrote the album's second single, "Helplessly, Hopelessly."
