BMI songwriters and artists were the leading nominees of the 35th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, with three recording artists recognized in five categories.
After leading the ACM Awards in both 1998 and 1999 with four victories, Faith Hill vies for honors in five categories: Entertainer, Top Female Vocalist, Album (Breathe), Song and Country Video ("Breathe"). Her work as a producer for the album Breathe earned her an additional nod.

Tim McGraw was recognized in five categories as well: Top Male Vocalist, Single ("Please Remember Me") ? and in competition with his wife, Faith Hill ? Entertainer, Album (A Place In the Sun) and Song ("Please Remember Me"). He was also cited as an album producer for A Place In the Sun.
The Dixie Chicks were also five-times mentioned: last year?s winners of Top New Vocal Duo or Group, the trio is up for Entertainer, Top Vocal Duo or Group, Album (Fly), Single and Country Video ("Ready To Run") trophies. Additionally, Chicks Emily Robison (banjo) and Martie Seidel (fiddle) received nominations as Instrumentalists.
The legendary George Jones claimed three nominations: Album (Cold Hard Truth), Song ("Choices") and Vocal Event ("A Country Boy Can Survive [Y2K Version]).
The ACM Awards will be held on Wednesday, May 3 at the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles and broadcast on CBS Television.
