BMI Film, TV & Visual Media Awards: Beverly Hills, CA

Legendary film composer John Williams will be presented with a special award named in his honor, The John Williams Award, at the 34th annual BMI Film, TV and Visual Media Awards, being held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. This Invitation-only event will honor the composers of the past year’s top-grossing films, top-rated prime-time network television series and highest-ranking cable network programs.

Award-winning composers Laura Karpman, Miriam Cutler and Lolita Ritman will receive the BMI Champion Award for their commitment to supporting fellow women media composers through The Alliance of Women Film Composers. Also being recognized is composer Rick Baitz, who will be presented with BMI’s Classic Contribution Award in appreciation of creating and leading BMI’s successful “Composing for the Screen” workshop for the past ten years.
