BMI Nashville to Host Exclusive Performances Highlighting Crow’s Genre-Bending Career
NASHVILLE, TN – Aug. 12, 2026 - BMI will recognize nine-time GRAMMY® award winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame icon Sheryl Crow with its coveted Troubadour Award on Monday, September 14th. The prestigious accolade recognizes a songwriter who has made a profound impact within the American music landscape and whose work continues to set the pace for generations to follow. The private event, hosted at BMI’s Nashville office, will feature exclusive performances and special tributes highlighting Crow’s defining career.

With a career spanning several decades across multiple genres, Crow is recognized as one of the most respected and prolific singer-songwriters of her era, having sold more than 50 million albums globally. She shaped the ‘90s radio landscape with a timeless catalog defined by poignant, narrative-driven songwriting and multi-genre hits, including “All I Wanna Do” and “If It Makes You Happy.” Her fusion of authentic vulnerability and rock-infused melodies achieved commercial and critical acclaim, securing her more No. One singles on the Billboard Triple A chart than any other female artist in history.
Since affiliating with BMI in 1991, Crow has garnered prestigious accolades, including the 1997 BMI Pop Songwriter of the Year. Her extensive catalog of hits has earned her 12 BMI Awards for chart-topping singles such as “All I Wanna Do,” “Strong Enough,” “Soak Up the Sun” and “Picture.” Additionally, Crow has been honored with eight BMI Million-Air awards for fan favorites “Everyday Is A Winding Road,” “Change Would Do You Good,” and “My Favorite Mistake.” Crow joins an elite roster of past Troubadour recipients, including John Fogerty, Billy F Gibbons, John Hiatt, Robert Earl Keen, John Oates, John Prine and Lucinda Williams.
