NEW YORK, July 19, 2016 – Lollapalooza 2016 is fast approaching and Broadcast Music Inc. From July 28th-31st, beginning at 1:00 PM, festivalgoers can check out 24 of BMI’s most promising bands and songwriters from its roster of over 700,000 affiliates.

This year’s Lollapalooza roster boasts a diverse selection of musical acts ranging from the R&B/Pop grooves of SoMo and the psychedelic sounds of Sunflower Bean; to 80s inspired power-pop duo Secret Weapons and the boundary-pushing hip-hop trio Flatbush Zombies.

“For the 11th year in a row, the BMI stage is the place to see the hottest artists before they break big,” said Samantha Cox, BMI Assistant Vice President, Writer-Publisher Relations. “Whether it’s Lady Gaga in 2008 or Halsey in 2015, BMI brings the best new musical talent to the Lollapalooza audience first. This year is no exception with incredible artists like Secret Weapons, LANco, and Flatbush Zombies, cementing BMI’s reputation for presenting the artists today that everyone will be talking about tomorrow.”

About Lollapalooza
Launched by founder Perry Farrell in 1991 as a touring festival, Lollapalooza remains an innovator in festival culture 25 years later. Lollapalooza was the first festival to bring together artists from a wide range of musical genres on one bill, it was also the first to travel, the first to expand to multiple days, the first to introduce a second stage, the first to blend art and activism, the first to offset its carbon emissions, the first to put electronic dance music artists on the main stage, the first to create family friendly programming, the first to make its home in an urban city center and the first to expand internationally.

Lollapalooza has grown into an annual world-class festival in Chicago (2005), as well as culturally rich countries including Chile (2011), Brazil (2012), Argentina (2014),  Germany (2015) and Colombia (2016). Lollapalooza is one of the premier destinations both for music fans in the United States and abroad. In 2015, Lollapalooza Chicago hosted 300,000 attendees over three days with more than 130 artists performing on 8 stages and provided over 155 million dollars in local economic impact.  In celebration of the 25th Anniversary, Lollapalooza has expanded to four days in 2016, featuring more than 170 artists performing on 8 stages.

Lollapalooza is produced by Perry Farrell, William Morris Endeavor Entertainment, and C3 Presents.
