(BMI), un líder global de la administración de derechos, honoro esta noche a los compositores y editoras de las canciones latinas más difundidas por la radio y televisión americana durante la 20a. entrega de Premios BMI a la Música Latina celebrada en el hotel Bellagio de Las Vegas.
Grupo regional mexicano legendario Banda el Recodo de Cruz Lizárraga recibió el Premio Icono BMI en reconocimiento de ser una de las agrupaciones de música de banda más influyentes en la historia del género. Los galardonados de 2013, Banda el Recodo, se unen a una lista élite de galardonados que incluye a Gustavo Santaolalla, Juan Luis Guerra, Gloria Estefan, Los Tigres Del Norte, y Carlos Santana. Para celebrar, Banda el Recodo regalaron una dinámica actuación a los invitados, acompañados por el Compositor del Año Horacio Palencia para la canción “Me Gusta Todo de Ti.”.
Mas de los h esa noche incluyen el premio BMI de Compositor del Año con Horacio Palencia y Prince Royce. Los dos homenajeados reflejan la diversidad de la música latina moderna, desde las baladas románticas de Horacio Palencia a los temas que escalan las listas de popularidad de bachata de Prince Royce.
“Te Amo y Te Amo” ganó el premio BMI Latino de la Canción del Año para el compositor Wilfran Castillo, Anval Music, y SER-CA Publishing. “Te Amo y Te Amo” fue grabada por La Adictiva Banda San Jose de Mesillas.
Universal Music Publishing Group gano su tercer premio consecutivo BMI Latino de Editora del Año gracias a su contribución de seis canciones en la lista de los temas más difundidos del año.
Vice Presidente de Entravision Communications Corporation, Christopher C. Roman, y Presidente de Lazer Broadcasting President, Alfredo Plasciencia, asistieron el evento.
La 20a. entrega de Premios BMI a la Música Latina fueron presentados por el Presidente y CEO de BMI Del Bryant y por Delia Orjuela, vicepresidente de Música Latina de BMI. BMI representa a los compositores latinos basados en los Estados Unidos y en todo el mundo, a través de acuerdos recíprocos con organizaciones hermanas de derechos de ejecución pública en los países de origen de los compositores.
