BMI Goes to Trinidad in Search of Soca Writers
BMI’s Executive Director of Writer/Publisher Relations for Europe & Asia Brandon Bakshi (right) met with Director of Roots Caribbean Rhythms Publishing Jean Michel Gibert (center) and President and CEO of the Royalty Network Frank Liwall (left) on March 7 in Port of Spain, Trinidad. Bakshi and Liwall were on the island to sign up new Soca-genre songwriters, as well as set up a BMI publishing company for Gibert.
