Yusuke Nakamura wins BMI/Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition Composers’ Prize
This year the Monk international competition focused on drums. The winner was Jamison Ross, seen here backstage with BMI President and CEO Del Bryant. Ross received his Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies from Florida State University and has performed with Wynton Marsalis and Chick Corea, and is currently a member of the Wes Anderson Quartet.
