October 24, 2011 For the very first time, the legendary Grand Ole Opry stage hosted a no. 1 party on Tuesday, October 18. BMI joined other members of the creative community at the Nashville landmark to toast the team behind Brad Paisley’s two-week chart-topper “Old Alabama,” written by Randy Owen, Chris DuBois, Dave Turnbull, and Paisley. Featuring guest vocals from Country Music Hall of Famers Alabama, the song marks the first time the beloved group has topped charts since 1993. Pictured are BMI’s Jody Williams; DuBois; Turnball; Paisley; Owen, with other Alabama members Teddy Gentry and Jeff Cook; Sony/ATV Music Publishing’s Troy Tomlinson; and BMI’s Bradley Collins.
