August 24, 2011 BMI was proud to sponsor the first-ever Evening in the Round at the HealthTrust Conference Dinner at Opryland Hotel on Tuesday, August 16. More than 600 attendees, including some of the nation’s most prominent hospital executives and vendors, enjoyed show-stopping performances by BMI hit songwriters Sarah Buxton (Keith Urban’s “Stupid Boy”), Billy Montana (Garth Brooks’ “More Than A Memory” and Sara Evans’ “Suds in the Bucket”), Lee Thomas Miller (Trace Adkins’ “You’re Gonna Miss This” and Brad Paisley’s “I’m Still a Guy”) and Doug Johnson (Randy Travis’ “Three Wooden Crosses” and Trace Adkins’ “'Til The Last Shot’s Fired”). Song after song received resounding applause from the spellbound crowd, as the writers drew the important connection between the songs’ superstar performers and the often lesser-known voices and faces of the BMI-protected writers who craft the hits.
