Texas Heritage Songwriters Association Honors Troubadours at Annual Homecoming
The Texas Heritage Songwriters’ Association also honored the late Stephen Bruton with the 2010 Darrel K. Royal Patron Award. Bruton, who passed away in May 2009 of cancer, was a member of Kris Kristofferson’s band for over forty years and worked with other artists such as Bonnie Raitt, Elvis Costello, and Delbert McClinton. Most recently, Bruton teamed up with T-Bone Burnett on the Academy Award-winning Crazy Heart soundtrack.
