Verano Alternativo Showcase Heats Up NYC
Verano Alternativo, BMI’s highly successful Latin music showcase, returned to New York City July 6 at S.O.B.’s, featuring a bevy of original, multi-talented troubadours who blended hip-hop, rock and dance rhythms. Latin music enthusiasts braved 100-degree weather to attend the annual event, which served as the kick-off to the 2010 Latin Alternative Music Conference (LAMC).
Featured acts hitting the stage at this year’s showcase, which was designed to expose unique emerging artists to music fans and industry leaders, included Colombian Latin-rock fusionists Punto G NYC; actor, singer and emcee Maria Isa; sassy electro-meringue wrangler Maluca; and world-class genre-benders Bachaco. Showcase sponsors included El Especial, Nochelatina.com and Arctic Ice.
