BMI recently partnered with the Tennessee Apartment Association (TAA) to host its annual legislative committee meeting on July 12, in BMI’s Nashville office. More than 50 guests from across the state attended the meeting that addressed high priority legislative issues that impact Tennessee’s apartment industry. Guests were treated to a luncheon before receiving a thoughtful presentation from this year’s guest speaker, Peter Fromknecht. Fromknecht, who highlighted the importance of identifying relationships with lawmakers at all levels of government, is a representative of the National Apartment Association and helps lead the NAA’s Grassroots Advocacy division out of Washington D.C.

As one of the sponsors of the event, BMI was afforded the opportunity to speak on the topic of music licensing, pointing out common uses of music within apartment communities. Since 2014, BMI has served as an official supplier to the multi-family housing industry, with affiliations in multiple cities and states.
