SXSW Indie Spotlight: Taylor Janzen

Posted in News on February 27, 2019

Fueled by an innate need to express herself in terms often too difficult for simple conversation, Winnipeg singer/songwriter Taylor Janzen doesn’t write and perform music just for the sake of providing entertainment. An outlet for her heartfelt ruminations, Janzen’s songs come imbued with a warm, thoughtful intimacy that she privately worries crosses the line between confessional and confrontational. Her 2018 debut EP, Interpersonal, was steeped in the songwriter’s experience grappling with mental health, but her honest musical expressions come wrapped in shimmering, minimal beauty, as acclaimed by outlets like Nylon, Paste and the New York Times.
