BMI songwriter Rusty Golden has earned his first No. 1 under the umbrella of his new publishing company, Rusty Golden Music. Co-written with Jerry Salley and recorded by southern gospel quartet Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, “John in the Jordan” recently shot to the top of all four leading gospel trade magazines’ singles charts.

Rusty is the son of William Lee Golden of the Oak Ridge Boys.

“God is blessing me,” Rusty acknowledges. “I know there is a lot going on in Christian music, but my choice is to write for southern gospel. That is where I feel I belong.”
