Reggaetonero Ozuna Takes Latin Urban Music Worldwide

Posted in News on October 2, 2017

While 2017 has already been marked by the huge impact of Latin music on the pop world, notably thanks to watershed singles like “Mi Gente” by J Balvin and the stratospheric success of “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi featuring Daddy Yankee, another young Latin star is swiftly ascending to further shift the paradigm. He goes by the name Ozuna, and if you’re not familiar with him yet, you soon will be.

At age 25, Ozuna is already cultivating a reputation in Latin urban music as a versatile musical alchemist. As a recording artist since 2012, Ozuna made huge impacts via YouTube before issuing a string of viral hits that boasted the infectious rhythms of reggaeton woven together with elements of bachata, ballads, Latin Pop, and most recently, Latin Trap, all punctuated by his signature vocals. Some of his successful singles include “Dile Que Tú Me Quieres,” “Si Tu Marido No Te Quiere,” “En La Intimidad,” and many more. He’s also collaborated with names like Daddy Yankee, Juanka El Problematik, Archangel, Yandel, Anuel AA and J Balvin.

In 2017, Ozuna dropped the album Odisea and kicked his career into full gear. He currently has an incredible 10 songs on the Hot Latin charts that are either his own or singles on which he is prominently featured. His most recent track, “Se Preparó,” was released in August, and, to date, has accrued more than 204 million views on YouTube. Ozuna wrapped up his stateside tour for Odisea this past summer and is poised to continue to break new ground on the reggaeton scene.
