Nearly 13,000 BMI Affiliates Sign Letter to U.S. DOJ

Posted in News on November 23, 2015

We asked for your help, and you responded! BMI received a massive response to our letter to the U.S. Department of Justice opposing an interpretation of BMI’s consent decree that would require 100% licensing. Nearly 13,000 BMI songwriters, composers and publishers signed on, making their voices heard to the DOJ on this pivotal issue, and highlighting the ramifications 100% licensing would have on music creators and copyright owners, as well as the industry at large.

We want to thank all of you who signed on and stood up for both your rights and those of future music creators. As always, we truly appreciate your support as we continue to fight on your behalf on Capitol Hill to protect your rights and royalties.

You can read BMI’s own submission to the DOJ here. Please continue to check back regularly for updates on this important issue.
