Posted in News on April 28, 2015

Broadcast Music, Inc. songwriter Lady Gaga will receive the inaugural Contemporary Icon Award, created to honor an unmatched force in the pop music industry, at the 2015 Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala event, set for June 18 in New York City. The award will celebrate the six-time GRAMMY-winner’s impressive songwriting talents, apparent in her three consecutive number one Billboard Hot 100 albums, numerous pop hits and popular world tours. Her most recent album, a jazz collaboration with Tony Bennett titled Cheek to Cheek topped the charts and took home the GRAMMY for Best Traditional Pop Vocal. In addition to Lady Gaga’s GRAMMYs, she has 13 MTV Video Music Awards, was the first woman to be honored with the RIAA’s Digital Diamond Award and has been one of Forbes “World’s 100 Most Powerful Women” for the past four years. Gaga is an active philanthropist, having formed her “Born This Way Foundation” to empower youth and inspire kindness. Congratulations to Lady Gaga!
