Indie Spotlight: White Apple Tree
White Apple Tree’s sound has been described as eclectic, complex, occasionally awkward and witty. Lead singer and guitarist Ryan Lawhon, brother and keyboardist Taylor Lawhon and drummer Stefan Mac are based out of northern San Diego and south Orange County. With rock and ambient guitars, quirky synths and the occasional “four-on-the-floor” kick, White Apple Tree offer a refreshing take on modern electronic music. Their music has punched up series including MTV’s The City and CW’s Gossip Girls, while they have performed with acts such as Asteroids Galaxy Tour, Hey Champ, Shiny Toy Guns, Wallpaper and more. Their new album Velvet Mustache is out now on 37records.
