Indie Spotlight: Space Capone

Posted in News on April 8, 2010

Space Capone’s influence thrives off late 70’s funk/soul/R&B with a fresh and modern twist. Still riding high off their debut album Volume 1: Transformation released in the spring of ‘08, Space Capone has already established a strong precedence in the southeast as a band that respects their influences but also knows how to party. Space Capone comprises funky horns, chanky electrics and a tight rhythm section made up of young musicians who are all scholars of funk, jazz, and r&b. Lead singer/band mastermind Aaron Winters (aka Space) explains, “We’ve arrived on this planet to help save people from bad music.” Their sophomore release drops May 7.
