Indie Spotlight: David Hopkins

Irish singer/songwriter David Hopkins launched his music career with the critically acclaimed rock outfit Lir. The group signed to What Are Records and released Magico, Magico which went to #1 on the alternative album charts and scored one top ten hit, “In a Day,” penned by Hopkins. After intense touring, Hopkins moved to San Francisco. There, he began to focus his efforts on music again. This quickly led to a stint with The Who, playing keyboards on the 2001 Quadrophenia Tour. Not content as a top-class side musician, Hopkins released Here Comes The Bright Light. His latest work, There Are Debts, is generating waves of acclaim from outlets including The Sunday Times, which called the album “a triumph.”
