Indie Spotlight: Van William
From the coastal Californian town of Cambria, Van William devoted his time to songwriting when not working on his father’s commercial fishing boat off Kodiak Island, Alaska. Following the traumatic end of a six-year relationship, William said goodbye to the boat to pursue music full time. Channeling his heartache into his music, William’s solo debut, Countries, is an emotionally candid rumination on the nature of relationships, imbued with poignant, folksy melodies, sweet harmonies and a warm, resonant ray of hope.
