Get Ready to Line Up for the BMI Stage at ACL 2016

Posted in News on September 13, 2016

BMI has lined up a stellar group of 24 bands who will head to Austin, TX, to hit the BMI-sponsored stage at the 2016 Austin City Limits Music Festival. Held across two weekends, September 30 to October 3 and October 7 to 9, the festival will take place in the famed Zilker Park. BMI’s stage will kick off the festival each day, setting the musical bar high with top-notch up-and-comers.

The first weekend of the festival features 12 acts including country-garage rocker Aubrie Sellers, indie songstress and recent Matador Records signee Lucy Dacus, singer-songwriter and NPR Tiny Desk verteran Julien Baker, country powerhouse Maren Morris, rock group Quaker City Night Hawks and more.

Weekend two will showcase pop-folk singer and KEXP featuree Margaret Glaspy, country band LANco, rocking Americana duo The Roosevelts, Australian indie electronica pair Atlas Genius, Thai-funk surf soul fusion trio Khruangbin and bluegrass maestro Amanda Shires, along with six others.

Now in its fourteenth year, the BMI stage at Austin City Limits brings must-see burgeoning acts to Texas, performing on stages alongside established BMI heavy-hitters such as Willie Nelson, Corinne Bailey Rae and ScHoolboy Q. BMI stage ACL Fest veterans like Catfish and the Bottlemen and Melanie Martinez will be returning to the festival main-stages again this year.

“We’re so grateful for our partnership with C3 Presents to offer BMI songwriters a chance to perform live at the 15th Anniversary of Austin City Limits Music Festival,” said Mason Hunter, Executive Director of Events and Strategic Partnerships. “Festival goers will have the opportunity to be the first to discover this year’s emerging artists on the BMI stage!”
