BMI songwriters and publishers may now receive a 10% discount on registration for the 14th annual Durango Songwriters Expo, slated for October 8-10 in Colorado Springs, CO. Sponsored by BMI, the anticipated event will take over the Doubletree Hotel, where more than 40 music industry professionals will gather to network with and critique the work of the 200 attendees. Showcases, mixers and panel discussions dominate the packed schedule.
While the chances to mingle with music industry heavy weights are a key facet of the event, songwriters are also able to swap songs and ideas with one another. As a result, three #1 singles have actually been written during the Expo by attending hit songwriters. The creative energy generated by the diverse but tight-knit gathering is truly one-of-a-kind. 2009 participants include hit songwriters Chuck Cannon (Toby Keith’s “How Do You Like Me Now”), Keith Follese (Faith Hill’s “Just to Hear You Say that You Love Me”), Al Anderson (Tim McGraw’s “The Cowboy in Me”), Shawn Mullins (“Lullaby”), Fastball’s Miles Zuniga and many more, as well as executives including Cliff Audretch, Director of A&R at Universal South in Nashville; indie radio promoter Al Moss; Crossfire Music Publishing’s Steve Markland; Sr. Director A&R at Razor and Tie Beka Tischker; and BMI’s Clay Bradley.
Attendance will be limited to 200 songwriters. To claim a spot, visit www.Durango-Songwriters-Expo.com and download the registration form or call 970-259-9747.
