BMI continues its proud support of all things indie with the April batch of introductory profiles highlighting free-thinkers, trendsetters, and head-turners, who all happen to share one characteristic: each profiled artist offers fiercely independent music. The new collection of featured indie artists includes Gamble House, the Globes, illScarlett, Violent Soho, Dinosaur Feathers, Space Capone, Suckers, So Many Wizards, Dam Funk, Pico vs. Island Trees, Silent Star, and Danielle Ate the Sandwich, as well as indie entrepreneurs dubFrequency.

The monthly BMI indie profiles exemplify the organization’s continued dedication to fostering auspicious new talent. BMI’s layered approach to songwriter development comprises educational, creative and promotional opportunities, including the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre, Jason Blume Songwriters’ and Jazz Composers Workshops; 8 off 8th, Pick of the Month and Acoustic Lounge showcase series; and stages at premier festivals including Lollapalooza, South By Southwest, the Key West Songwriters Festival, and the Austin City Limits Music Festival.
