BMI hosted Triple Tigers’ multi-Platinum artist Scotty McCreery to celebrate his seventh No. One hit “Bottle Rockets,” featuring the GRAMMY award-winning group Hootie & The Blowfish, at its Nashville office on Thursday, April 16. The feel-good collaboration from the Grand Ole Opry inductee pays tribute to the band’s debut single “Hold My Hand” and marks the group’s first career No. One. During the party, Triple Tigers Records announced that the single had just been RIAA certified Platinum.

“Getting a No. One record never gets old,” said McCreery. “Getting a No. One, Platinum-certified record with Hootie & The Blowfish is something I could have never dreamed about when I started my career. This has been one of my favorite projects ever. Thank you to all my co-writers, to country radio, to the DSPs, and to Triple Tigers Records for working so hard. Most especially, thanks to the fans for supporting us!”

Hosted by BMI, ASCAP and SESAC and emceed by BMI’s Shannon Sanders, Sanders welcomed McCreery, three of the four Hootie & The Blowfish members Darius Rucker (ASCAP), Dean Felber (ASCAP), Jim Sonefeld (ASCAP), along with Spirit Music co-writers Monty Criswell (BMI), Derek George (ASCAP), Bobby Hamrick (ASCAP), Frank Rogers (ASCAP/Producer), Brent Anderson (SESAC), and Jeremy Bussey (SESAC) to stage to speak about the song. During the celebration, attendees were gifted with McCreery and Hootie & The Blowfish merchandise and treats from King of Pops. Sponsored by Studio Bank, Kari Barnhart made a special donation presentation on behalf of McCreery and the songwriters in support of the Opry Trust Fund. Green River Whiskey, the new official whiskey sponsor of BMI No. One parties, gifted McCreery and his collaborators with a commemorative bottle of single barrel bourbon in honor of their chart-topper.
