BMI partnered with the Texas Restaurant Association (TRA) at this year’s “Lone Star Bash,” the official opening party for all TRA convention attendees and exhibitors held June 29, at The Rustic in Dallas. BMI artist and songwriter Javier Mendoza kicked off the party, performing to a packed house. Javier has released 15 albums and will be back in the studio this fall recording some new music with GRAMMY award-winning record producer, Toby Wright. Voted “One of Colleges Hottest Artists” by Campus Magazine, Javier has shared the stage with Willie Nelson, Los Lobos, The Roots, Ben Folds, Jars of Clay, Michael W. Smith, Chris Tomlin, Santana, Idina Menzel, Martin Sexton, Raining Jane, Victor Wooten, and many more.

All proceeds from the “Lone Star Bash” benefited the Texas Restaurant Association Education Foundation and its high school culinary arts and hospitality program, Texas ProStart. This program is featured in more than 200 Texas schools and reaches more than 20,000 students each year.
