BMI Composers Score Creative Arts Emmys

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences presented the Creative Arts Emmy Awards on, September 8 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, and four BMI composers/songwriters walked away with the golden statuette. The Creative Arts categories are part of the 59th annual Prime Time Emmy Awards, which will be handed out September 16.

The BMI winners included:

  • George Fenton - Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score) – “Planet Earth – Pole To Pole,” Discovery Channel, A BBC/Discovery Channel/NHK Co-Production
  • Jeff Beal - Outstanding Music Composition for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special (Original Dramatic Score) – “Nightmares & Dreamscapes: From The Stories of Stephen King,” Battleground, TNT
  • William Ross - Outstanding Music Direction – 79th Annual Academy Awards, ABC, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences
  • Katreese Barnes - Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics – “Saturday Night Live,” Host: Justin Timberlake, Song Title “Dick in a Box,” NBC, SNL Studios in association with NBC Studios and Broadway Video
