BMI Salutes 2020 Oscar Nominees at SCL Annual Reception

On the eve of the Oscars, the Society of Composers & Lyricists gathered together the music community to honor this year’s nominees. Attending the celebration in Hollywood were Best Score nominees John Williams (Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker), Alexandre Desplat (Little Women), Thomas Newman (1917), and Hildur Guðnadóttir, who won the coveted trophy on Sunday night for her score to Joker. In addition, songwriters Joshuah Brian Campbell and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who were nominated for Best Original Song this year for “Stand Up” from Harriet and “Into the Unknown” from Frozen II, respectively, joined the elite group of fellow nominees being saluted for their outstanding work.
