BMI Partners with iHeart Media to Bring Songwriters Fest Back to Southwest Florida

BMI partnered with IHeart Media and the Lee County Visitors and Convention Bureau recently to present the 7th annual Island Hopper Songwriters Fest in southwest Florida. After taking a pause in 2020 during the pandemic, the festival resumed this year with packed outdoor venues and record-breaking revenue for the participating BMI-licensed restaurants, bars, and hotels. The 10-day event, which takes place on Captiva Island, in downtown Fort Myers and on Fort Myers Beach, features 75 BMI songwriters performing in more than 20 venues. BMI participates in the festival every year to not only shine a spot on the craft of songwriting, but to help drive traffic to the businesses in southwest Florida that support BMI songwriters during the course of the year through the licensing fees that they pay.
