BMI Mourns the Loss of Troy Gentry

Posted in News on September 11, 2017

BMI is saddened by the loss of Troy Gentry, who died tragically in a helicopter accident on Friday. Gentry was half of the Grand Old Opry inducted duo Montgomery Gentry, who took the country industry by storm in 1999, winning the coveted CMA Duo of the Year award in 2000. Some of the award-winning duo’s credits include “My Town,” “Something to Be Proud Of,” “Where I Come From,” “Gone,” “Roll with Me,” “Lucky Man,” and of course, “Hillbilly Shoes,” which set them on the road to release 11 albums over the course of their career.

Our hearts go out to the Gentry family. Troy will be missed by his friends and fans at BMI.
