BMI Launches New Series “BMI Presents at The Listening Room”

BMI debuted its new songwriter series “BMI Presents at The Listening Room” on Wednesday, August 27, designed to showcase BMI songwriters signed to publishers. Hosted by BMI’s Leslie Roberts, the inaugural round featured a takeover by Sony Music Publishing and shared the talents of Averie Bielski, Ryan Larkins, Patrick Murphy and Lindsay Rimes (APRA).

Kicking off the round, Patrick Murphy performed “Lonely Left,” Dyan Scott’s “Back Forty,” “Slow Song Fast Car,” and his Tim McGraw hit “Standing Room Only.” BMI’s Rooftop On The Row series alum Larkins followed with “Bones,” “Here for A Reason,” and Tim McGraw’s “Hold On To It.” He ended his set with his first-ever No. One and the 2024 NSAI Song of the Year Cody Johnson’s “The Painter” from the reigning CMA Album of the Year, Leather.

Newcomer Bielski performed Scotty McCreery and Callista Clark’s “Gettin’ Old,” “Easy Whiskey,” and joined Murphy for a duet of “Made for Movin’ On.” Hitmaker Rimes ended the evening with Charles Kelley’s current single “Can’t Lose You” and Kane Brown’s hit “Heaven,” followed by Nate Smith’s “Whiskey On You” and 10-week chart-topper “World On Fire,” which he co-wrote and produced.

The next round will take place on October 14 at The Listening Room and feature singer-songwriters signed to Big Machine Music.
