Emerging from Boston’s indie scene, Vundabar has built a catalog celebrated for its inventive songwriting and genre-blending style. Comprised of lifelong friends Brandon Hagen and Drew McDonald, and joined by bassist Zack Abramo, their music fuses surf guitar, post-punk, math-rock, jangle-pop, and grunge, evolving with each release to reflect personal growth and resilience. The band’s introspective lyricism reached new heights on their sixth album, Surgery And Pleasure, crafted during a period of profound personal change for Hagen and marking their debut with Loma Vista Recordings. Known for viral hits like “Alien Blues,” which earned platinum status after exploding on TikTok, Vundabar has continued to innovate with each release. As they embark on a new creative chapter, Vundabar’s music remains a dynamic and cathartic exploration of loss, transformation, and self-acceptance, captivating fans and critics alike.
