BMI Indie Spotlight: UMI
Named for the Japanese word for ocean, UMI is a 24-year-old Seattle native whose soothing blend of R&B and folk music is crafted to promote a sense of healing and warm human connection. UMI’s Japanese roots and life experience as a queer woman inform her rich, genre-blending songs.
