BMI Indie Spotlight: SOPHIE GREY.
Armed with her keytar synth-ax and a knack for crafting “Retro Electro” music, SOPHIE GREY. is an artist on the rise. This summer, the classically trained pianist and producer, who honed her skills at USC’s Thornton School of Music and The Village Recorder Studios, recently opened for Sting across European arenas, performed at the Isle of Wight Festival, and played headline shows in Amsterdam, London, and Canada. Her unique sound, a blend of live instrumentation and electronic elements influenced by soulful pop, hip-hop, and ‘80s beats, is showcased on her recent 7-song EP, Just Another Sonic Monday (TM), and her latest video for “Maybe, Baby,” directed by Maximilian Stafford. No stranger to the stage, SOPHIE GREY. has also toured with Americaʼs Got Talentʼs Lily Meola and appeared on Good Morning America with GRAMMY-award, multi-platinum artist Shaggy. SOPHIE GREY. just finished a successful tour run in UK/Continental Europe and Canada where she opened for Sting, Alison Moyet and Shaggy as well as headlined solo shows in London and Amsterdam. In addition, Sophie has co-written the song “LOCKED IN” with Gavin Magnus which is steadily gaining traction on Spotify (approaching 350,000 streams).
