BMI Indie Spotlight: ILSEY
Ilsey Juber is a highly prolific, Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter who has collaborated with some of music’s biggest names. She’s co-written for artists like Miley Cyrus, Beyonce, Panic! at the Disco, Major Laser, Ellig Gouding, Shawn Mendes, Martin Garrix, Bebe Rexha, Jimmie, Noah Cyrus, and many more. After working extensively with Mark Ronson on 2019’s Late Night Feelings (on which she also provided vocals for “Spinning”), Ilsey set her sights on crafting her own solo debut album. Filled with stirring pop ballads and acoustic-driven songs focusing on her own emotional experiences, Ilsey’s LP, From the Valley, recalls the sounds and vibe of Laurel Canyon in the 1970s. Produced, engineered, and mixed by BJ Burton (Bon Iver, Soccer Mommy, Low), the album allowed Ilsey to open-up creatively and express her vision with authenticity.
