Posted in News on March 16, 2026

Celebrated BMI composer Ludwig Göransson enjoyed another triumphant evening, last night, at the 98th Annual Academy Awards in Los Angeles. For his blues-inspired music for Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, Göransson was presented with the Oscar for Best Original Score. A prior Best Original Score recipient two-times over, Göransson previously won this prestigious accolade for his scores for Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer in 2024 and Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther in 2018.

Now a five-time Oscar nominee and three-time winner, Göransson has become one of the most revered composers of his generation. Beyond his Oscar wins for Sinners, his work on this film also earned him a BAFTA Award, a Critic’s Choice Award, a Golden Globe and two GRAMMY Awards. In addition to recognition for its remarkable score, Sinners also took home the Oscars for Best Cinematography, Best Actor and Best Original Screenplay.

Congratulations, Ludwig!
